This project consisted a massive extreme makeover to the front entrance of this beautiful historic home in Lancaster, PA. We began the project by doing some major demolition and removal of the existing aged concrete patio and walkway at the main entrance to the home. The existing landscaping in the front of the home was also removed. After demo and general clean up were finished we began the new construction.
The patio base was excavated and installed followed by footers and block seating walls. The seating walls were veneered with stone to complement the home’s exterior look and finished of with flagstone caps to match the patio and walkway stone. The patio, walkway and steps are all equipment with an extensive heating system to deter snow and ice accumulations during the frigid winter months.
The walkway leads off to a stone veneered custom address pillar and flagstone landing area finished off with a granite slab border. The pillar is constructed to match the seating walls at the front patio with the same stone veneer and matching flagstone cap.
the window wells around the home are outfitted with belgium block window wells to help retain the altered grade and give a unique look. They also compliment the granite curbing by the front landing.
The side entrance to the left of the home features a flagstone landing with a similar look to the patio and walkway. There is a broken flagstone walkway leading from the side landing to the front entrance. Stone steppers lead from the opposite side of the landing down to the driveway area.
Landscape lighting is installed throughout the property. There is up lighting on the trees as well path lighting along the walkways. Lighting is also installed to accent the seating wall and patio as well as up-lighting on the front of the home. The entire property look gorgeous day or night!
Landscaping, soil amendments, edging and mulching were installed as per Howard J. Supnik’s landscape design to finish of this amazing front entrance makeover.
To complete the project we did some weeding and general clean up and mulching of the existing landscape beds around the home. Along with some touch up seeding of disturbed areas
