Pond Stars Project Showcase

As seen on NatGeo WILD’s “Pond Stars”, Visit the Tropical Forest Exhibit at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, IL. Hear from the curator how their new water feature has positively impacted the birds as well as the keepers and patrons of the exhibit.

The Pond Stars brave the wild as they renovate an uninspiring water feature in the wolf exhibit at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. The guys artfully position rocks to create a 21×15’ pond complete with 7×11’ wetland filtration system. The wolves anxiously await their new pond that becomes a refreshing source of water in their remodeled surroundings.

Also in this episode, an existing water feature in the Lincoln Park Zoo’s bird exhibit has become a bit of an eyesore so the Pond Stars are called in to work their magic and create a feature that will make the birds sing. A shallow wading pool and 10-foot stream with remote control pump ensures beautiful acoustics and a peaceful habitat for the zoo’s feathered friends.
