“Pond Stars” Episode 1-Turtle Power

The folks at Gwinnette Environmental & Heritage Center were anxious to receive a turtle rescue pond from the Pond Stars, who successfully created a 15×15′ pond with a lazy, 20-foot stream. For added filtration, the guys incorporated an 8×12′ bog with beautiful aquatic plants. The turtles now have a happy, healthy home and visitors to the center enjoy seeing the turtles and learning more about them in their new habitat.

Also in this episode, an avid bird photographer is the happy recipient of a 30-foot waterfall complete with a rainwater harvesting system installed by the Pond Stars. The waterfall recirculates the rainwater stored below-ground which helps improve the quality of water. Birds flock to the sound of running water, providing plenty of photo opportunities. An added touch to this melodious water feature is a slate stacked bubbling urn, creating a bird bath of sorts for all the feathered friends who visit.
